Session 1: FIGURe Fundamentals

Monday-Friday 10:30 am - 4:30pm + Saturday museum sketching

Learn the fundamentals of sculpting the human figure in clay. We will follow the tradition of learning to sculpt the figure using the reference of plaster casts of master works from the museums of Paris. We will also complete various exercises to train our eye.

All materials and armatures are provided for your use during the workshop.

Suitable for both beginning sculptors and those looking to improve their figure fundamentals. Ideal preparation for Session 2.

Session 2: figure Life Model

July/August 2020 (2 weeks) Exact dates TBA
Monday-Friday 10:30 am - 4:30pm + Saturday museum sketching

Learn to sculpt the human figure in clay from a live model. We will focus on creating one figure sculpture during the 2 weeks. We will also complete various exercises to train our eye, as well as visit the museums to sketch from the works.

All materials and armatures are provided for your use during the workshop.

Note: We will work on a wire figure armature. The work cannot be kiln-fired. Options provided if you would like to have your work cast and shipped (additional fee).

Previous sculpting experience recommended, beginners must also register for Session 1.

 

LOCATION: Paris, France

This sculpture workshop takes place in the ideal location of Paris, France. We will take advantage of the rich art history of the city by visiting the museums to study directly from the master works on display. You will also have free time to explore and soak in the culture.

Accommodation is not included, recommendations will be provided. Full location details will be provided upon registration.
