Session 1: Portrait Fundamentals

Monday-Friday 10:30 am - 4:30pm

Learn the fundamentals of sculpting the portrait in clay. We will create 2 studies during the 5 days. First we create a basic human skull to understand the essential anatomy of the head. We then progress to create a face mask from a reference cast to study how the features are constructed.

Suitable for beginning sculptors or those looking to improve their fundamentals. Designed as preparation for Session 2.

Session 2: Portrait Life Model

Nov 11-15 2019 (5 days)
Monday-Friday 10:30 am - 4:30pm

Learn to sculpt a portrait head in clay from a live model. We will begin with the basic forms, essential measurements, and anatomy that will help you create a life-like portrait. We progress to sculpting the features and practicing techniques for improving your likeness of the model.

Previous sculpting experience recommended, beginners must also register for Session 1.

 

LOCATION: Victoria, BC, Canada

This sculpture workshop takes place in the charming town of Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada.
